How do you compare to Text Blaze or Expanso (both for free). I am using Expanso and it works pretty well

u/Smooth-Trainer3940Reply

I am a big fan of Text Blaze. I have been using it for years and once they released a macos app I will probably never swtich. IMO it's the best text expander out there

u/nez329OPReply

I am primarily looking for a menu bar drop-down palette type where I can see the Text inputs, so TypeIt4Me is the only one that has that feature. Text Blaze & Expanso do not seems to have that feature. And by chance I came across this offer.

aText v.2 has that too as you meanwhile (should) know :) And is $5. But Typelt4Me is a good text expander as well. Contrary to aText v.2. it is still actively developed. For both apps I own a license btw. At 35% discount Typelt4Me is a no-brainer imo.

I’d like to ask whether TypeIt4Me 7 supports inserting images within text expansions in application like Telegram or Messenger (because I using only in 2 application to reply my customer) I’m currently using aText 2, but it has an issue where images cannot be inserted into chat applications like Telegram or Messenger. The image insertion feature only seems to work with Apple’s native apps such as Mail and Notes, but not with other third-party applications. https://youtu.be/rp0wvjuHZEk Could you please let me know if TypeIt4Me 7 works differently in this regard, and whether it can reliably insert images across various apps?

Yeah, I guess I do like to know as well. Any Typelt4Me Users can share?

u/locha9066Reply

are you using this application? Can you test this? aText also introduce same, but it only work in application of Apple. s

u/MaxGaavReply

I just tested aText v.2 with a .png image. This can be pasted in both Telegram and WhatsApp without problems. I don't use Messenger. TypeIt4Me also works in WhatsApp with the same .png image. But doesn't in Telegram.

I will check again, I think I also add .png image. Do you have any setting? I only using Insert -> Image

Oh, you are the JUICE! guys. Great piece of software. You have been very helpful to me over the past few months.

u/nez329OPReply

You are welcome. BTW, you bough it already right? How is it so far?

u/NJRonboReply

JUICE is excellent. My magnetic plug is always falling out of my laptop, often without me knowing about it, such as when the dog brushes up against it. JUICE automatically alerts me. For some time, it was not working correctly under Tahoe, but I have been speaking with the developers, and they have finally fixed the problem and released a version that is working well.

Yes I was looking for a reasonable budget. Thanks mate

macos literally has built-in text replacement in the keyboard settings for free tho 💀

Sure, some commonly used simple phrases, like CYT: "See You Tomorrow," will work. But I handle long, repetitive, complete sentences that I reuse occasionally—but not often enough to remember. For example: "To secure the apartment, you need to pay the first and last month’s rent plus a refundable security deposit upfront." Trying to recall the abbreviations for that, let alone invent one for that sentence, would drive someone looney. Now imagine hundreds of similar phrases, sometimes with slight variations, in different contexts, different categories. By the time a person recalls them after multiple attempts, I would have already finished typing (with slight differences and the conversation likely ended).

fair point honestly 😂 my goldfish memory could never remember the shortcut for a whole paragraph like that. i usually just rely on raycast snippet search, but if you have hundreds, a dedicated app makes sense. i yield 🏳️

u/MaxGaavReply

If you regularly use the sentence "To secure the apartment, you need to pay the first and last month’s rent plus a refundable security deposit upfront." it will probably be your business or sidekick. I would then use the abbreviation 'apartmentpay=' or 'apartpay=' or even 'a-pay='.

Both aText v.2 and TypeIt4Me do 'w/o' → 'without' on my Mac. I'm on Sequoia.
