FilePane alternatives ?
Hello, I'm looking for an alternative to FilePane, but I can't find any... I particularly appreciate the format/resizing conversion and the quick compression of the images. But especially that everything happens within the same software, without having to go looking for other software to do what I want. I tried Dropover, but finally, it's not practical at all: the conversion overwrites the original file and if I choose the copy option, I'm forced to choose every time you save the file, without being able to simply save it in the root folder... In fact, a good compromise between FilePane and Dropover would be ideal. ShakePin would be perfect, but there are too many bugs:/ If you have any suggestions :) Thank you very much.

try dropshelf or keka. both work great
These are two separate software, I look for a single software to do what I want. As Filepane does 😄
I've been trying to find a replacement for a while and have had no success... I think I may have to just create some quick actions for the contextual menu with Automator.
Arf :'(
Maybe Dropshelf is a good choice.
Does it seem to me that dropshelf is only the one for the temporary file shelf part? Doesn't he work on images or file? Type of conversion and compression?
what files do you drop like that mostly? is it mostly media / would only media help to cover most of your needs?
Yes, a large part of the files I use are media, I updated my first post a little to clarify. Also pdf.
Hello guys. Filepane has had a major overhaul 2.0 release a couple days ago. I was not able to update it for a while cause I lost part of FilePane's source code when war started. Other apps have been updated during this time. Never had a Reddit account, so no idea if I'm allowed to paste the website link here, but I'll try: mymixapps.com/filepane Will be happy to hear your feedback.
Interesting. I'll try the maj right away.
The cold shower. Do I have to pay for the update? Is the software no longer available on the French store?
Not sure if what you need is built into LaunchBar or not, but you could definitely write a custom action to do exactly what you’re asking. The same can probably be said for Alfred/Raycast/etc. if those are more your thing.
For compression Keka works great
I agree, I'm already using it, but I'm looking for something integral
Dropzone 5?
I prefer a floating tool close to the cursor, which avoids browsing the entire screen, especially on a large screen.
Search for 'file converter' in this sub. Music files can easily be converted with XLD (free). Also check out Slipboard, a drag&drop clipboard and dropshelf for text, images, files and folders
We focus more on a clipboard management application, which differs somewhat from the management of temporary files in my opinion. BetterTouchTool's clipboard is just as effective as Slipboard's, I think.
I especially appreciate the conversion and fast compression of a file. Actually, a good mix between FilePane and Dropover would be great For compression you already got the suggestion for Keka. Probably the best app in the field. So the compression part is covered I guess. For conversion I suggested to do a search here because there are quite a few file converters presented here lately. Permute is an established name in this space, but it's also $15. Leaves a dropshelf. For this, Slipboard can be a cost-effective solution. If you think BetterTouchTool can do the same, that part of your quest is solved as well :) I guess if you want an all-in-one solution, Apple's Shortcuts app can help you out.
Nearly thought it was promotion for Slipboard until I saw your username 😆 .
Nah... but I'm indeed enthusiastic about Slipboard :) For some workflows (researching especially) I find it easier to use than my clipboard app AwesomeCopy, which in itself is the most feature-rich clipboard manager known to man (promotion!). Which may actually not be true when I think of Cliptools (free). Never did a real comparison though.

I really appreciate the developer of Dropshelf and PopClip, which I use all the time. Unfortunately, the application has not seen any evolution since 2021. I understand what you are saying, but I have been using this system for several years and I appreciate it. I find it more quickly. I have Mac shortcuts for all of this, but I find it less convenient than drag and drop.
Where do you find DropShelf ?
