I have to ask. Is there a reason the iOS app size is 150 MB? The Mac app is 77 MB, which is better but still large. Is it the 3D globe model? Or is it an Electron app?
iOS for me is showing 112.3? and Mac 100? but typically for this its images, amount of custom art work and animations is the big one, I have been compressing them, optimizing them but want alot to be on board to not rely as heavy on good internet as its already pulling from alot of sources and blending them so to help with weather data loading decided to cut down on the amount of things it needs to load. also my goal was to be lean and fast, its a quick comparison but for the most part alot of the top 10 or so weather apps on iOS are 250mb+ and same for MAC. I can always optimize better and now with 7.5.2 being pretty stable especially on iOS my goals are further optimization on Mac (UI tweaks, fixing some settings menus) fluidity, widgets. Always something to fix or make better for 7.5.3

This looks SUPER cool. However... Your dock icon is a giant square. Meaning its the wrong size and also doesn't have rounded corners. AI for some reason believes that mac icons are rounded and sized automatically, they're not. I must say it really bugs me when devs don't even notice this, it instantly gives me way less faith that they paid any attention to detail in testing the app. With that said, you clearly put a lot of detail into the UI which I appreciate. During onboarding, it didn't seem able to recognize that I had already enabled notifications, and kept prompting me until I hit skip When I got through onboarding the app just hangs on loading (after changing window size to be huge. side note, window size was too small during onboarding with no scroll and the bottom was sometimes cut off). After quitting and restarting, it just makes me go through onboarding again and hangs at the same spot. So, the app is unusable for me. Since based on the marketing copy, you seem to like brutal/honest feedback, I'm just going to say - this looks like an app you put a ton of time into on iOS, and then ported over to mac with AI as quickly as possible. I'm disappointed :( because it looks awesome. Also if you do fix these things, a weather app for me has one essential feature which is menubar icon. I couldn't really use your app but I didn't see anything about that during onboarding. So that would be my big request before I replaced my other weather tools with this.

So definitely wasn’t ported over with ai but I will say as my first Mac app I’m surprised at how much more difficult it is to develop for Mac over iOS. iOS iterations are pretty start forward between linking to backend systems and testing on Mac is even harder but I fully agree the Mac app isn’t nearly as polished as iOS. I’ve been testing but in my little bubble the Mac app I need more eyes on it. Some things I knew of and should be patched in 7.5.3 Popup windows movable and easier to drag, can re arrange. The dock icon I can look into it and re optimize. Honestly I took the app icon and moved it to Mac thinking it’s not the worst but it’s definitely worth diving into. The onboarding that’s more concerning as I didn’t notice it on my 3 computers running it so that’s something I need to look into asap. If you don’t mind what macOS version are you on? And we have a menu bar icon that should appear at the top and can enable/ disable in settings and have it start on boot up. Clicking the menu bar icon will popup a menu of locations and can click locations to open app

I'm not sure what font you are using here, but it reminds me quite a bit of split flap boards. Very nice!
Oh I love that. I messed with some of that design but was “too much” with everything I already have going on in the app. But I love some split flap style. I miss the old early android HTC split flap clock design they used. Such an under appreciated design.

There seems to be a conflict with the Lifetime purchase price. If you look at the IN-APP purchase price for lifetime, it is listed as $59.95. However, elsewhere, it says $39.95. I would gladly pay $39.95 but not $59.95. Which is it?
The interface is so nice! Is it possible to see what weather stations are being referenced? The prediction markets use certain locations and it would be really good for these users to be able to have a dashboard like this with all the locations they’re buying contracts for…
Bought lifetime pretty much a day or two after I tried it out. This is a no brainer app for weather. Seriously, if you haven’t tried it out, give it a rip. You won’t be disappointed.

what models does it actually pull from? the euro vs gfs split is basically my whole call on whether to trust a weekend forecast
I use a combination and does depend on your area. main ones are; Open-Meteo GFS/ECMWF as the backbone Apple Weatherkit which is its own blend model as well NWS (for US) Environment Canada I also have some APIS for; Pollen, Tides, Convective Risk, Moon phases, Air Quality, Smoke and while those are weather data as far as temp in its own regard I take that data and blend it into the overall "weather brain" score so if open meteo has a great temp but might be more absent on convective risk or storm alerts and tides, those 3 can come together and create a better logical blend. Also mostly use weather kit for fail safe (since iOS and all apple devices have it more or less) and for live activities especially on the iOS side for live activities (rain soon etc...) You can disable weather sources in settings but in my opinion loses value. I have had a lot of EU users ask about Foreca since that seems to be a favorite but every time I have added it or done data comparisons the differences between open meteo and the blend are almost zero differences with a large increase in costs (atleaast the locations I've checked) but always looking for more sources, more local NWS, environment Canada sources especially if free local APIs. I'm also working on letting users plug their own APIs, sources if they have some they use or own personal radars hope that helps :)

When two forecast sources disagree significantly, does the app flag it as low confidence or show both numbers without a warning?
