WakeMinder V4: a simple way to send reminders, links, files, and images to your future Mac

Full contextOriginal content · Reddit

Hi everyone, I’m the indie developer behind WakeMinder, and I’m excited to share that WakeMinder V4 is now live. WakeMinder is built around a very simple idea: When your Mac wakes, that first second matters. That tiny moment before Slack, Safari, email, YouTube, Reddit, or some random notification steals your attention is exactly where WakeMinder helps. It shows you what you meant to do before you get pulled into something else. With V4, WakeMinder now supports file and image sharing. You can send files, images, screenshots, PDFs, documents, links, and reminders from your iPhone or Apple Watch to your Mac, then have them appear when your Mac wakes. Where it helps in real life: You remember something away from your desk Send it from your iPhone or Apple Watch. When you open your Mac, WakeMinder shows it immediately before distractions kick in. “I’ll do this when I’m home or at the office” No times. No schedules. The next Mac wake becomes the trigger. You save an article to read later Share it to WakeMinder. When your Mac wakes, your browser opens that exact page. You find a file, image, screenshot, or PDF you need later Send it to WakeMinder from your iPhone. When you return to your Mac, it is there waiting for you. You open your Mac and forget why WakeMinder puts your own intention in front of you first. What WakeMinder does Instant reminders the second your Mac wakes File and image sharing from iPhone to Mac Auto-opens saved links in your default browser Send reminders from iPhone and Apple Watch iCloud sync using Apple’s infrastructure Option to enable or disable reminder sounds Improved Reddit link title fetching Pricing $1.99/month $9.99/year $12.99 lifetime, currently 35% off WakeMinder is available on the App Store for Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6744974871?pt=127772248&ct=redca&mt=8 Website: www.wakeminder.com I’m building this as a solo indie developer, so feedback genuinely helps. If you try V4, I’d love to hear what works, what feels confusing, and what you’d like to see next.

I have been using Wakeminder for a couple of months now (since Aug 2025), and it has genuinely become my most frequently used app. I primarily use it to send reminders but mostly browser links or Reddit posts from my iPhone to my MacBook everyday. This way, the moment I am back and open my MacBook, those links automatically open in my browser. That is my workflow. I haven’t tried the new file or image sharing features yet, but for browser links and Reddit posts, it is phenomenal. The developer has also been responsive whenever I needed clarification or encountered issues. I rarely post to support developers, but this is one app that has been genuinely helpful to me, and the developer deserves my praise so I am posting this to support.

Thank you so much for this. I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to write such a thoughtful comment. Building WakeMinder as a solo developer means feedback and support like this make a huge difference. It is easy to keep working quietly in the background and never really know whether the app is helping people, so reading this honestly means a lot. I’m really grateful for your support, your patience, and the kind words. More improvements are coming, and comments like this give me a lot of motivation to keep making WakeMinder better.

interesting. not sure about my usecase but reads solid. congrats! v4 is def. something mate!

u/zerok911OPReply

Thanks mate, I really appreciate it. That’s fair. It’s definitely one of those apps where the use case clicks harder once you run into the “I need this when I’m back on my Mac” moment.

I didn't know i needed this app until i tried it lol, pretty cool and useful!

Great. I only have one request: previous versions had a Polish translation, but unfortunately, it's not available here...

Thanks for reporting that. Is it for both ios and mac?

The wake trigger is clever because it turns "later" into a concrete moment instead of another scheduled reminder people ignore. The part that will decide whether it sticks is how fast someone can dismiss, snooze to next wake, or convert the reminder into a real task without opening a second app. Do people mostly use it for links, or for "do this before you drift" prompts?

I discover a lot of apps here but WakeMinder has become one of the most valued gems. It literally changed my life overnight. Hell, I just used it a second ago when I saw a post about a Mac app I wanted to try later. I’ve been using it daily. I just love it. It’s so simple, and so genius. It works flawlessly. People who say they won’t use it - you will. Everyone’s a use case. I have been recommending it to everyone. Dev, congrats on hitting v4. Here’s to many more. I didn’t mean to rhyme. Edit: thanks for the award! But it should really go to the dev ☺️

u/zerok911OPReply

Haha, the rhyme made it even better. Thank you so much. This honestly means a lot. Building WakeMinder as a solo developer, comments like this are incredibly motivating. I’m really glad it has become useful in your daily workflow, and I truly appreciate you recommending it to others. I’ll keep improving it and hopefully make each version better than the last.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Hope it works well for your workflow, and feel free to share any feedback or issues after you try it.

When did you change to IAP model? What about folks who paid for the app before you switched purchase model? https://www.reddit.com/r/AppHookup/comments/1nua7ot/macioswatchos_wakeminder_smart_reminders_on_mac/

u/zerok911OPReply

Good question. WakeMinder moved to the IAP model after the initial launch phase. Anyone who previously purchased the app, or got it during the free promotion, is still treated as a lifetime Pro owner. They will not lose access and they are not affected by the new purchase model. The IAP pricing only applies to new users going forward.

I noticed an issue with WakeMinder - the UI is not popping up at all nor is it available in the menu bar.

u/zerok911OPReply

That's a bummer. Will DM you to go through some diagnosis
