Yes and no :-) Technically, windows remain in their 'last known position' as you can see in the video. That's the default macOS behavior. However if you move an app window, close it and then re-launch it on a preset switch, it'll open up where you closed it, you can't configure it to open in a certain position/location for example on the left half of the screen. Hope that clears it up. Also just for mega clarification, some people refer to "dock presets" as "dock layouts", I believe in this case layout means position on the screen, of course dock presets/profiles can be saved with DockFlow (that's the main idea), and you can have an unlimited amount of them :-) EDIT: Just saw your edit on Lattix Honestly, I have no personal experience with Lattix so I am hoping someone who does can shed some light on the matter, I don't want to talk about what I don't know, but from a look at their website, they seem to be mostly about layouts whereas DockFlow is about dock presets and launching the windows you need. I would ASSUME DockFlow could be a better fit if you rely on the dock to switch between windows?

For the switching there’s no permissions needed. We specifically designed it around it. However for features like locking the dock to a specific screen, it does require Accessibility.
love mac's stage manager but always find myself wanting more customizability with it... i love how flexible this seems!
I started with Stage Manager but DockFlow for me solves a different problem, it’s all about switching between projects. If you can see in the video I have a lot of projects that I switch between (app dev, web dev for like 7 websites, video editing etc), and being able to simply close everything and launch the IDE with the project I need was a game changer As for switching between apps when I’m already loaded with the preset, I mostly use our other app which gives me a dynamic dock that only shows me apps in the space I’m on, very handy

Of course! That app is Backdrop and I highly recommend it, battery usage is way better than I thought it would be and a large collection of wallpapers to choose from. The developer is very friendly.
This is pretty nice, can also be very good for partners sharing macbooks on the same account to just switch instantly!
the thing i would want to see in a context-switching dock setup is a really good restore path. launching the right apps is nice, but the scary part is closing the wrong thing or losing a messy work state. a preview/dry-run mode plus an easy "go back to previous setup" would make this feel much safer for daily use. browser profiles and shortcuts integration are probably the parts i would test hardest.
