Used to have hundreds of open tabs over weeks. absolutely terrified to close my browser, thought I’d lose something important. Best extension i found was a mindset shift. Eventually forced myself to stop hoarding tabs and learned to live without them. Life on the other side of tab hoarding is worth trying, imo

I literally meant a shift in my mindset 😀 Sorry to disappoint 🙏

I use a different approach. History Book from And a dinosaur captures any page I’m on that looks readable locally plain text. Syncs across all my devices. I’m not really afraid to close tabs anymore. Then I just launch and quit pages freely.

Safari mostly looks after this itself (but can go insane occasionally on some sites).

Tab Suspender for Safari is the usual pick for this, suspends idle tabs on a timer and releases the memory. Worth checking it handles whatever Safari version you're on.

There is no more tab suspender extensions for the new safari version sadly.
