Am I on Mute? — a floating mute button you can always see
Check it out if you feel it might be useful for you. Problem The mute button isn't always easy to find and click at a glance Most apps have their own mute button with its own look and position Checking if you're muted often means hunting for the right button mid-sentence Comparison Most similar apps live in the menu bar, this one has visible floating indicator Closest competitor might be MicDrop (good app) but lives in the menu bar Per-app mute buttons don't talk to each other, one source of truth fixes that Am I on Mute? mutes at the system level, so every app sees it instantly Pricing Free version — floating button, click to mute/unmute, works with every app Pro — USD $4.99 one-time (30-day free trial included) - full customisation Links Mac App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/am-i-on-mute/id6758543736?mt=12 Website: https://amionmute.com Privacy policy: https://www.amionmute.com/privacy.html Contact form: https://www.amionmute.com/contact.html Terms: https://www.amionmute.com/terms.html

the "one source of truth at system level" is the key insight here. per-app mute buttons are fine until you're mid-sentence and not sure which app is actually capturing your mic
Yep. I tried so many other ways of making this 'work' on a per-app level (zoom, teams, etc) but it simply didnt work as intended. The system level option was the best way to go and ultimately a lot more simple for the end user.
i like this!
Thanks 🙏
Ive been wanting this for a long time. Good job. Can it have its sized changed? Also any interest in building “am I on DND” haha
Yeah it’s customisable in the menu. Shape and size!
haha, top app for the paranoid people like myself
Haha, yep. The whole reason I made this is because I was paranoid. It has been quite helpful :)
Nice one. I’m the kind of person who keeps my mic on push-to-talk because I’m always paranoid it somehow got unmuted
Yup, me too. I’ve found it helpful for me. Give it a whirl and see what you think. Open to feedback about functionality and interface.
I actually forgot to mute a call with colleagues once. I realized something was wrong when I realized everyone was silent and looking strangely. so i think it's a good idea
Thank you. I’m learning it’s not just me that has had problems with this in the past! Give the app a go and let me know what you think
Innovative solution for an existing problem
Thanks! Give it a try and let me know what you think
Interesting idea but $4.99 😨
About the price of a coffee, I guess. Not much room to lower it without devaluing the work hours that went into it. The core app is free to use and the only thing that is gated is customisation. 30 day pro trial included in case you want to check it out. Let me know if you have any questions 👍
This is really useful, and pro features are worth paying for, the keyboard shortcut is a must
Thank you. If you try it out and have any ideas on how to improve it please let me know.
Alright, I downloaded this to try and during my first meeting using it I realized within 5 mins this app is awesome and bought the lifetime pass. Great job!
Oh wow thanks for the feedback! Glad it is helpful for you. If you have any suggestions of find any bugs let me know. 👍
This is well executed, nicely done!
Appreciate it! Thanks.
I am loving this app. It's working really well. One minor fix. I find that it doesn't allow moving to all side of my computer. Its almost like an invisible padding. Are you able to allow it to move to the edges?
Thanks, let me look into this and see what’s going on!
