This app is $39 from the web site, $79 for some reason from the app store. Anyone know of other mac apps for cataloging offline disks? To search them without mounting...

NeoFinder is the other long-standing app for this, also paid (around $40). If you don't mind doing it manually, you can ls -laR /Volumes/drivename > drive.txt per drive and grep across the text files later. Works, just no UI.

Thanks, but I don't think that's what I'm looking for--I just need a simple list of files and folders for multiple discs, like this: https://diskcatalogmaker.com/

As others have said, I've heard a lot of good things about NeoFinder. If you do want to have the ability to back up to multiple drives (3-2-1 backup) and search the files/know where everything is even when those drives are plugged out, I'm building Tusk at the moment and the beta starts on Monday: tuskbackup.com But, if it's just for the file catalog, you won't go wrong with NeoFinder :)

I've used NeoFinder for years. It handles this scenario pretty well. I recently looked at Offline Files (https://robertpaulkothe.gumroad.com/l/offlinefiles) which made a good first impression.

Apple takes 30% for software sold on the AppStore, which probably explains the price difference.
