I’m looking for a very simple scratchpad-style note app. Ideally, I want to press a keyboard shortcut and instantly open a clean blank note where I can quickly type something and close it when I’m done. I don’t want a full note-taking system with folders or formatting like Notion or Obsidian - just a minimal, distraction-free blank page for quick thoughts. Ideally it would: • Work on Mac and iPhone • Sync between devices • Stay very clean and minimal I like how AntiNote looks but it doesn’t have an iOS app. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks!

Have a look at Scratchpad.
Hey, thanks! I get why they have subscriptions, but I still want to avoid them, lol.
Oh! Good to know.
Thank you
Thank you. Looks nice but not sure it's what I'm looking for.
Thank you. Isn't that a game launcher?
Thank you I will check these out now.
I really liked how that one looked. I saw it earlier. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like its been updated for the past thee years. At least the App Store version has been abandoned.
iconfactory makes good stuff. I'll take a look. Thanks
I really like how Drafts looks. Unfortunately it looks like it's a subscription service. I am looking to avoid that right now.
Antinote has an iOS app in TestFlight. Eventually patience will be rewarded.
Quick Draft does all that (lives in the menu bar). It’s one continuous note. https://quickdraft.app
drafts is basically built for this, shortcut opens it instantly and you can ignore all the other features
not sure about the shortcuts, soulver can do the formulas
You might want to check out Tot by the Iconfactory if you haven't already.
Raycast notes. Sadly its a subscription but its exactly what you want Drafts is good too
https://itsypad.app - Mac app is free (and I really like it). It has a one-time purchase iOS companion app, but I'm not using it. Or Apple Notes, pretty sure you can setup a keyboard shortcut to open the app + an empty note.
Apple notes has a quick notes feature , Scratchpad is on both devices , there is sidenotes and plain text editor as well
Check out the new app EdgeMark (free). No iOS though. Recent Reddit post on the app. Personally, I am a long time Stickier user, it's a free Sticky app with extra features, like a Notes List, checkboxes and a shortcut to open it. There's a paid iOS app too. If formatting is not important, there are several more. Check out https://macmenubar.com/note-taking-apps/
Apple’s Notes, not sure about shortcuts but you have hot corners
try heynote
NoteCalc https://apps.apple.com/fr/app/notecalc-notes-calculatrice/id6737917127
look at monarch launcher
I've been using Numi, works like a charm https://numi.app
It does not feat with all your requirements but I often use chime for small notes on my mac. It is a very minimal and nice looking text editor
