honestly the cleanest fix I found for this kind of thing is using Safari’s reader view on the AI Mode page, then ⌘P → save as PDF. Works because reader strips the sidebar columns where the ads live. Vivaldi’s reader chokes on AI Mode because it loads content lazily, not because reader mode is wrong as an idea. If you want markdown specifically, MarkDownload after expanding all responses is the closest you’ll get without writing a bookmarklet.

There's a Gemini app for Mac. Which behaves pretty obtrusive, So I uninstalled it again. Instead I use a PWA made with Brave browser. If you don't know what it is, just search for 'How to make a Progressive Web App with X' (fill in the browser of your choice). From there it's very easy to copy prompts and answers.

The cleanest approach I have found is a bookmarklet that scrapes the conversation DOM and formats it as markdown before pushing to a local Obsidian vault via the Advanced URI plugin. Not a polished app but it requires zero permissions and survives Google's UI redesigns better than purpose-built savers that break whenever Google moves a div. If you want an actual app, ScreenSnapAI can capture and OCR the conversation on a hotkey which at least gets you searchable text even if the formatting is rough. The real answer is Google adding native export, which feels increasingly likely given they already added it to NotebookLM. Anyone found something that preserves the source citations Google AI Mode adds inline?

Is there any RAG involved? Save chat history to it, we can save time on repeating. Guess some thirty party plugin can do it.

Personally I just use the Copy-Button, which of course only copies one single response, so I have to use it multiple times per conversation. Another solution might be using Reader Mode (if your browser has something like that) and then maybe "Print as PDF" (check to make sure the PDF actually contains text, not just images of the text).

doesn't look like anyone has a smooth solution for this? if gemini, can use Share then dispay in incognito window and it will auto-expand user messages, but regular google ai mode pages don't seem to do same, so one's forced to manually expand each of one's own messages to save full chat. annoying.
