Shopify variant app that actually shows variants purchased in reporting?

I am currently using the Easify app for variants on some of my products to allow me to: - Have image swatches for more options than just color - Set my inventory for the main product only- my variants do not have inventory tied to them The problem is I’m not able to run reporting to see what variants customers are purchasing. I can only see it on their packing slips/the order page. Does anyone know of a variant app that will connect to Shopify’s reporting?

The key thing is whether those choices are being stored as real Shopify variants/SKUs or just as line item properties/options from the app. If they’re only showing on the order page and packing slip, Shopify’s native product/variant reports usually won’t treat them like sellable variants, so swapping apps may not fully fix the reporting problem. I’d decide based on what you need operationally: if the option changes what you buy, stock, cut, make, pick, or reorder, it probably deserves to be a real variant or at least a real SKU-level component somewhere. If it’s cosmetic/personalization only, line item properties are fine, but you’ll likely need exports or a reporting app that explicitly reports on line item properties. Before migrating apps, I’d test one product end-to-end: place a test order, export the order CSV, check whether the selected option appears as variant title, SKU, line item property, or note attribute, then see what your reporting tool can group by. The trap is making the storefront look cleaner while hiding the exact data you need for purchasing and fulfillment.
It doesn’t read the variants since the variants ‘live’ in the Easify app. When I run that report, no variants show.
Trust me- I’d rather have it a real variant and not just a variant within the app. But if i do that, I have to out inventory for each variant which I don’t want to do. Basically my items are all ‘preorder’ - I make 100 available each Saturday & make the through the week (I’d be a bit overwhelmed with more than 100, in a small business). They each have an option for style and one for color, but I don’t have inventory tied to the options/variant combinations because customers can choose any combo they want & I can make it. But it would be nice to be able to run reporting to see what’s selling and what’s not. Right now I have to manually type all my orders into a spreadsheet to keep track which takes time. I also like that with the easify app, I can have swatches for both color and style. Since Shopify doesn’t have a way to tie inventory to a parent product and not track the variant inventory, I have to use an app.
Ahhh yeah that gets complicated with those constraints. Yeah since the variants aren't in Shopify and they "live" in the Easify app, you're going to have to rely on Easify likely. Unless the variants are in the order export or some sort of otherwise exportable data.

Remind me why you can’t use Total Sales by Product in Reports under Analytics and add the “product variant” dimension and then increase list size?
