macOS still doesn't have per-app volume. So I built it, and a few other things :)

Problem: Spotify too loud during a call. Slack pings buried under a YouTube tab. macOS has one master volume slider. That's it. I got tired of it, so I built a per-app volume mixer with EQ. Then I realized I had a few other Mac frustrations I'd been duct-taping with separate apps for years. So I built those too. Things macOS literally doesn't have: Per-app volume + EQ Custom-grid window snap (drag-and-snap, not just halves and quarters) A GUI port monitor (no more lsof -i :3000) Pixel-accurate screen ruler System-wide always-on-top for any window Save and restore named window layouts Crop part of a window into a floating thumbnail CPU/GPU/RAM in the menu bar Things macOS has but I wanted better: Bulk rename with regex + live preview Color picker with global hotkey Theme switcher with custom schedule Caffeinate with a menu bar toggle Find-my-cursor spotlight + crosshair Batch image resize ZoomIt presentation drawing A few smaller ones. I'll be honest. Live Text already does OCR pretty well in Apple's apps, and Xcode has its own accessibility inspector. Those features are in ProToys for convenience and a unified hotkey system, not because they don't exist anywhere on Mac. Comparison: Setapp ($9.99/month, 240+ apps): you're paying forever. ProToys is $14.99 once. Mine is cheaper after 2 months, and most Setapp apps aren't focused power tools. Stitching Rectangle + Background Music + iStat Menus + xScope: costs $80+ across 4 apps, 4 settings panels, 4 menu bar icons, 4 hotkey schemes. ProToys is one app, one hotkey system. Pricing: $14.99 one-time. Free trial, no signup wall. No subscription, no account. Discount: 20% off for the first 15 people from this post, code: FIRST20 Download Link: protoys.app Documentations: protoys.app/docs Privacy: protoys.app/privacy Terms: protoys.app/terms About me: I'm Qutibah, solo developer :) Portfolio: ti0.me/ Open to honest feedback, especially on the eight in the first list, where I want to make sure each one holds up under daily use. Genuinely curious: what's the one Mac utility you've never been able to find a good version of?

Thanks, that means a lot. Let me know what you think once you try it.
This video is very pretty visually but i have no idea what's happening. It feels like watching shapes move around. Cool app nonetheless!
PowerToys was the inspiration for me too :) What's the Supercharge features you'd kill to have in ProToys? :)
Thanks! I'm not that professional honestly, just Premiere Pro with some templates and graphics.
Still figuring it out lol. Reddit + TikTok + indie communities for now. ProToys is my first proper paid app. Earlier ones were opensource or just for me
They tried to make people say if it's vibe coded or not, everyone just lies
Yess they are included, we are adding new tools Weekly/monthly Also if you have any suggestions for new tools I would be so happy to do it One device/license
Thanks for the feedback! I got completely lost in the edit and thought it was a masterpiece, lol Might be time to hand this over to a pro
Yesss! After years on Windows, moving to Mac made me realize I had to build something similar
That’s how AI generated videos about AI generated shitty apps usually are.
Finetune is great! I love it and use everyday in my pro audio setup
we talked about it i remember. nothing much happened regarding that
I am glad you described what this app does beause that video shows a lot of nothing
The video editing is nice, but it doesn't "sell" the software to the user; it's hard to understand what it does.
Looks really useful! Is the title an allusion to Microsoft's Power Toys? :)
Major updates included with Lifetime License? How many devices per license?
Does this app use AI? Such as being vibecoded.
Get SoundSource (paid) or Finetune (free).
This sub should really require a vibe code flair
How are you planning to market this? I saw many apps in your portfolio. How many of them are profitable? What are your marketing strategies?
Remember the Powertools from Windows. Couldn't live without it. Supercharge and ProToys need to have sex a baby 😊 Not sure that will happen , but would be nice...until then both apps will have to be installed side by side on my machine.
Cool app and demo video. Just curious how did you make that video?
17 tools is the giveaway. You can’t beat SoundSource at audio AND Rectangle at windowing AND iStat at metrics as a solo dev. Pick one and be the best at it.
It's hard to tell if the app will make you money, but you can definitely earn a penny making promotional videos :)
Outstanding. Been looking for something like this.
