Running a fashion/clothing store and genuinely curious how others handle this. Every time we get new inventory, the workflow is: Remove background / ghost mannequin (Photoroom or similar) Download, re-upload somewhere to swap background Manually rename files by SKU Upload to Shopify, match to the right product/variant Set alt text For a 30-SKU drop this eats like 4-5 hours. Most of it is just moving files between tools and matching images to the right variants. Is this just us, or does everyone do this manually? Have you found anything that actually automates the full pipeline end-to-end? Thanks!

Yeah, this is exactly the kind of workflow that feels small until you do it 30 times in a row. I'd definitely try to automate this with a script.

Do you have any programming knowledge? Or have you played around with claude code or openai codex? This looks like the ideal automation scenario. Give it a try yourself before looking for an existing solution, lmk if you need help.
Or put an openclaw agent to manage your store better than that?
I built an automation workflow to handle this via the Shopify API. It’s probably work looking into having a developer build something similar for your needs. How many products per year do you process like this?
There’s definitely some optimizing that could be going on here I would imagine. You might consider looking at an app like Mechanic
yeah this is basically universal for anyone doing drops at that scale. the background removal step is rarely what eats the time. it's the four or five handoffs after it that add up. re-uploading to swap backgrounds, renaming by SKU, matching images to the right variant, setting alt text, each one stacks. running the whole SKU batch through at once instead of one image at a time saves a lot of time on a thirty piece drop, especially if you can group by product type so similar items get the same background treatment in one pass. alt text is the other easy win. letting it generate off the image itself instead of typing thirty of them by hand probably saves you the most time out of anything on that list.
