Looking for a screenshot app on Mac - I am aware of Cmd Shift 5, but it is too much finger gymnastics since I take screenshots often. - I prefer to annotate (line, arrow, box, rectangle, add text, blur) and to repeat same area capture again. - I used to use Shottr which was great but it is not Open source, and it has nag/reminder screens which appear more than once lifetime. I prefer to avoid this, if there is a good alternative. - I have used Flameshot on Windows, and I tried it on Mac, but it did not feel reliable, nor did it feel native. Link to Flameshot. Any recommendations for a good one on Mac? Free and popular open source preferred.

macshot for a flameshot replacement and shottr
Thanks for the recommendation, I assume this is the one: https://macshot.io ? Looks really neat!
yeah.. second macshot
I love shottr although it is not open source. I just wish the free version did not nag this much.
Thank you. Do you know how this compares to better shot and macshot, which others have recommended here?
Yes
Shottrr is worth paying for
love your username!
macshot has nearly or more features as shottr and can record videos as well and is very customizable
Droppy's element capture is amazing
Ha! It’s not much but it’s honest work… Didn’t think this was award worthy - so thank you!
Try Snapzy
+1 for macshot
I have been using this for all my projects and it has worked well.
Appreciate all the love for macshot here! Will keep improving it guys 🙏
Thanks for the work on macshot!
I second macshot
You can change the shortcut…..
Love macshot ♥️
I have been using https://shottr.cc/, and really like it
how does macshot compare to shottr? currently use the latter and i love it. have used it for years and it‘s so fast and nimble. beautiful ui. genius , simple ux. but i wish i could control file name savings and had capture history.
you can download cleanshotx for a third party website and use it
Its not free. But droppy has screenshot integration which is good enough for me. It has a lot more. Check it out
If I may add my own app to the mix: ScreenFloat ( https://eternalstorms.at/ScreenFloat ) not open source, but one-time-lifetime payment, and gets regular updates. Full guide here: https://eternalstorms.at/short/gtksf/ Enjoy : )
