Hi all, I think I'm in the right spot to ask this. Part of my job is running through checklists of all our equipment. Previously we were using SafetyCulture for this, which was good, as it allowed us to make subsections. Currently we're using Microsoft Forms, which is very clunky and slow to use and make forms on. I'm after something that is able to be synced across multiple different devices, has the ability to make subsections relatively easily, and is hopefully free (hard ask, I know), or quite cheap. If it also has a way to output to excel, that's a bonus

I can't help you but this is not the right place to ask for these kind of software recommendations I guess. Perhaps r/software would be more appropriate. Have you tried Google Forms btw?
For recurring equipment checks, a generic checklist app gets you started but you'll outgrow it fast once you want history, due-date scheduling, and accountability per asset. A lightweight CMMS handles this natively — checklists tied to each piece of equipment, auto-recurring, with a record of who did what. Full disclosure, I'm with eWorkOrders and we built exactly this for maintenance teams; happy to point you to free options too if you just need the basics.
