Does anyone else find it incredibly frustrating that Endel’s new Pomodoro focus timer features are locked to mobile? Right now, the desktop app Mac only has the regular, open-ended "Focus" soundscape timer. For people with neurotypical brains, a standard continuous timer might be fine. But for those of us with ADHD, it just doesn’t work the same way. Without the hard stop of a 25-minute Pomodoro break, I completely lose track of time. I will either hyperfocus for 3 hours and completely burn myself out, or I will get distracted 5 minutes in and have no structural cue to pull me back. To use the actual Pomodoro, I have to open the app on my phone. But keeping my phone on my desk is an immediate distraction risk. The second I look at it to check the timer, I see notifications and get derailed. Endel's AI sounds are unmatched for getting me into a flow state, but the lack of the built-in Pomodoro/break structure on desktop feels like a massive missed opportunity for neurodivergent folks. Is anyone else hosting their Pomodoro setup on a separate desktop app while just looping Endel in the background? Hopefully, the devs bring the full timer features to desktop soon.

yeah, having to use the phone for the timer kind of defeats the point. i’d keep Endel for the soundscape and use a separate Mac timer/break app for the structure. the important part is the desktop cue, not another phone notification. small bias because i’m building in this space, but fixed timers are only half the problem. if the break hits at a terrible moment, i usually dismiss it. the better version is something that gives structure but doesn’t constantly break flow.
