hide/remove "Continue with Shop" button on customer account login page?

Some customers are getting confused by the "Continue with Shop" button when attempting to log into their accounts on our ecommerce site. Is there any way to hide this button? I was thinking I could add a CSS rule but I notice that the URL for this page is https://shopify.com/authentication/79746793689/login so I probably have no access to CSS there. Just to be clear, I want to simplify this page by removing the "Continue with Shop" button so customers just log into their account with our store using their email address. We are getting complaints from customers who click on the "Continue with Shop" button then aren't seeing their order history.

Apologies I didn’t read your post well enough. I would assume because it’s still a CSS page you can edit it. I would still ask Claude. But without actually doing it I can’t be sure.
you likely can't modify that external login page but you can adjust your store settings to prioritize email login instead
Really? Where do I go to do that? It would definitely help if that was first with "Continue with Shop" below.

I got rid of it with help from Sidekick a while ago but I would do it with the Claude connector now. Make the change on a theme copy and test it. That shop button is a pain. I didn’t realise until I asked someone to complete a purchase on a mobile while I watched. Instead of checkout they immediately pressed the shop button and started creating an account. Almost like that was Shopify’s intention 🤔

In the Settings of your admin, if you go to Customer Accounts, are you on the Legacy (old) customer accounts? Right below that is a section where it says "Sign in with Shop" and there is a toggle button. I'm still able to use the Legacy Customer Account even though it's deprecated and will eventually be taken away. But I've toggled off the Shop sign in because it takes customers away from my website and business and instead incorporates them into the Shop app/marketplace where they get confused. The "Sign in with Shop" toggle button may be there even if your store is using the new customer accounts. It's worth a check to see what is there. I even was able to remove the "Track in Shop" button on the shipping confirmation email they added without telling us. You cannot easily do this. I had to search You Tube and found a good one and I went into the liquid file and removed it. I want my customers to be able to return to their account on my own website or track their order at least without going to Shopify's marketplace to do so. It is my business, not Shopify's (or "Shop's")
