Can’t seem to find the right search parameters to find an iOS app that lets me create a to-do list but also lets me add how long I think a task will take. I have ADHD and time is my enemy. I’d like to start putting in tasks and then tracking how long I thought it would take versus how long it actually took. I appreciate your suggestions. Thanks.

When I was using Todoist there was an integration that could add time. So definitely worth looking into!
Amazing Marvin. You can estimate the time a task will take, plan your day (week, etc.) based on your time estimates, track the time you're spending on a task as you do it, and see reports for how you spent your time. Marvin has tons of features designed with ADHD users in mind.
Oh brother, do i ever hear ya about this turning into another chore in of itself that I will probably postpone!! I have a gazillion reminder Apps downloaded and I probably use none of them at this point if I’m being honest. How much of Todoist can I use without paying the $60 annual fee? I wary of paying yet another subscription and then never using the app. Also, does it have natural language processing?
I downloaded structured but no matter what I try it won’t sync my apple calendar. I actually have lifetime pro access from forever ago. Yet another app I dowloaded and then never used. Lord have mercy on my soul.
Thanks for that suggestion but…Oof that price tag. Gonna try out the trial version and fingers crossed that this is the one!
As someone with ADHD , let me tell you that you might think you want to do this, but it quickly becomes yet another chore in itself and a hurdle to completing tasks. I use Todoist for everything and assign ”spoons " as labels to chores & recurring tasks - from one spoon to 3 spoons - for me spoons roughly represent mental or physical effort and time required. If it's a 2 min task, I just do it. I tackle chores based on how many spoons they are going to require and how many I have left. I thought I wanted to track time spent on work-related projects/tasks in a project manager and it itself become a time suck and I kept forgetting which only frustrated me more. I found it easier to help fix my time-blindness by just timing recurring tasks at least once when I'm functional and focused. Most took less time than I ascribed to them in my brain. I thought mowing the grass took 3+ hours and I'd split it over several days and put it off. Turned out it takes about 1.5 hours if I do it all at once.

I use Todoist mainly because it's really good for prioritizing my tasks. While it doesn't have a built-in "estimated time vs. actual time" feature, I sometimes put the estimated duration in the task name or description (for example, "Clean room 30 min") and then track the actual time separately with a timer or time-tracking app. If prioritization is important to you alongside time estimates, Todoist is still worth checking out.
I recommend Structured and paying for the Pro version. It is planner and a todo list. Use the inbox area as a todo list if you haven’t assign a day for it yet. You can label each to do list item with how much time it will take to finish and also how much energy you would need to complete it. The app is also sync with other calendars, such as google and Apple calendars, as well as your reminder app. My favorite feature is the app can be sync with Apple health app and figure out my period cycle and let me know when I have the most energy during the month.
Super Productivity.
Ypt maybe?
Sunsama has this feature!
Amazing Marvin is probably the closest thing I've found. It's more configurable than most todo apps, and time tracking is built into the workflow instead of feeling like an extra feature.
Use something with a bunch of customization like Notion or Trello
Try Toggl. I really liked it!
If you have an iphone just use Notes, make templates. A million different ways to do it. For waht you are talking about just create a 4 column table, Column 1 - task name, Column 2 - Start time, Column 3 - Finish time, Column 4 - formula that provides elapsed time.
Shovel is the app for this!! I'm not affiliated but it helps me so much so I try to recommend it when I can. It's like a visual to do list. It links with Google calendar (or any calendar I think) and lets you visualize where a task fits in your day Edited to add, I also have adhd (didn't even finish reading your post before commenting lol) and shovel helps me so much with time blindness. That's why I'm so passionate about it
Not exactly a to do app but I use Toggl Track to track my time. I love it, I’ve logged a total of around 20,000 hours since early 2024 Toggl has Toggl Plan and Toggl Focus which lets you create tasks and log the duration it takes
I have ADHD as well. I used to build pretty complicated systems to track all sorts of metrics I thought would help me be more productive and stay on task. Still, in the end, Apple Reminders turned out to be the best solution for me once I learned to use it beyond its basic functionality. For your time estimates, use smart lists. It will automatically categorize your reminders based on the tags you use. If something takes 15 mins, add a 15 min tag, and it’ll show in your 15 min list. It also integrates with Apple Calendar, and it’s one of the few things Siri seems to do well. Get a text message or email you need to respond to later? Ask Siri to remind you, and you’ll get a new reminder with a direct link to the message you need to respond to. It’s worth a shot if you haven’t used it much before, and it’s free!
