Hi all - Looking to improve our email marketing processes. We currently are using sendgrid bc it's just there from another part of our tech stack. However, I've been using claude quite heavily to help write a lot of things, constantly going back and forth to work through ideas. Also this is not claude written, I respect reddit to much for that. And I kinda hate all the "It's not X, it's Y" and other telltale signs, but I think its powerful. I'd love to be able to have a template that I can write the actual content and paste the visuals into via claude, and then queue it up to send on a campaign. Anyone use anything for this? Any worries about doing this?

These all look cool. Honestly if you are the developer of any of them, thought I'd mention - they all feel like they have been designed with either AI Figma or Claude Design, and it makes me wonder how old / stable / secure they are. Just some feedback

Our MCP is ~2 weeks out but it mainly will act for a pass through on the api. We’re almost 5 years old, billions of emails sent and our editor has full parity with our api including real time sync, themes and component support. More here loops.so/docs or straight to the docs here https://loops.so/docs/quickstart-agents I’m the cofounder, there are 10 of us, the entire team is engineers and the logos on our homepage have the first stripe payment date because those are active paying users. Happy to answer any questions

Nice - appreciate the info and seems like you have a decent product. I actually was interested to try your product a few weeks ago but after registering your welcome email got flagged as spam by my email provider (Gmail), which scared me off due to a perceived low sender reputation (didn’t want to go with a company to send my emails if their own couldn’t get around spam rules). https://www.reddit.com/r/Emailmarketing/s/5IXjBUImIM

I'm also using Claude heavily for writing but still doing the actual campaign setup manually. At some point I wanted the whole thing connected, not just the copy. One way I create campaigns now is through Omnisend's MCP with Claude. You describe the email, paste in your product details, tell it the segment and send date, and it builds and queues it directly in Omnisend. Prompt quality matters a lot though. "Write a promo email" gets you something forgettable. Something like "flash sale, targeting people who bought 6 months ago but have gone quiet, warm tone, no discount-bait subject line, here are the products" gets you something you'd actually send. The AI-sounding worry is fair, but it's really a brief quality problem, not a tool problem. Vague brief, vague email. Specific brief, something that reads like you wrote it.

Are you focused mostly on the generation of the html for the email given your content and media? Or like a platform like Sendgrid that's more AI leaning? Either way, I'm building Wraps.dev and it could be a good step if y'all are also on AWS.

emailshepherd.com has a great MCP server. You can connect it to Claude and it builds your email’s within your Email Design System’s guardrails

DailyStory has a full MCP and runs in through their email lint checker.

Since you are already using SendGrid, I would recommend checking out our email marketing product mailrith.com. We integrate directly with SendGrid, Claude, and have a MCP server.

A few thoughts: 1) SendGrid does not have the best deliverability; you might measure and see how many blocks you get. In my experience, I could not get ANY mail through to ANY Microsoft, Yahoo, or AOL accounts, ever. 2) As far as email generation, work on identifying how you want to prompt it. LLMs can write great emails and to get them not to sound like AI-generated content, you have to prompt them to not write like an AI (in my prompt I say "no sharp contrasts" and "no emdashes" which works surprisingly well); 3) Yes, using an LLM to do this is a great idea, but "paste the visuals into via claude" is probably going to be a loosing game. For Outlook support, you need to build rasterized images for each section of your page and serve them instead of the real content. Getting all the nuances of how to write an email is NOT trivial. Sure, theoretically Claude can do it, but it won't do it out of the box and to make it do it correctly consistently every time is a lot of work. It's really a quality question. Good luck!

Hi there, SendPulse has MCP server that works for creating email copy and sending the campaign. I tested it through connection with Claude and was greatly impressed how it changed the game of crafting a campaign. Only worry I have is for html code that is used for template, so far Claude leaves its marks and I don’t think it can be scanned good and land in proper inbox folder on gmail

My guess is that Claude should be able to use sendgrid even if it has no MCP through its API, did you try that ?

I'm using the Mailtrap MCP server for this, mainly within Cursor or Claude Code. It works pretty pell for now. When I was researching which platforms have MCP integration, I also shortlisted Kit, Brevo and Resend.

For the MCP + sending side: a couple of the newer ESPs ship official MCP servers now, so you can have Claude actually create the campaign from inside your chat. MailerLite has one, Resend does too. I don't think SendGrid has an official one yet but there are community wrappers on github, and their API is simple enough that a thin MCP is easy to stand up if you're technical. That's the "queue it from Claude" piece. The thing to watch: Claude is genuinely rough at the actual email HTML on its own. It'll write you something that looks perfect in the preview and then breaks in Outlook, because email HTML is still nested tables and inline styles and a pile of 2005 hacks. So if you're pasting raw model output into SendGrid, test-render it hard first. On the template side I built a tool for basically this exact workflow (disclosure, it's mine, so take it with salt) . You chat the content the way you already are, it spits out email-safe HTML you drop into whatever ESP. It doesn't send, that stays with your ESP. Happy to share if it's useful, but honestly the ESP-MCP route might get you most of the way on its own.

For the marketing side, I'd be careful not to replace SendGrid with an MCP. They do different jobs. An API or MCP is a sending pipe. The campaign stuff (audiences, unsubscribe, templates, opens) still wants a real ESP. Claude's the strong part for the copy and the back-and-forth, so wire it up to draft, not to send. One thing to set up early: keep transactional mail (receipts, resets) on a different subdomain from promos. Mix them and one bad campaign send can drag your receipts into spam too.

Omnisend has MCP with Claude and handles exactly this. Been using it for my store for a while. The one thing I'd say is don't ask it to do all the thinking, use it to execute what you already know you want. That's when it stops sounding like AI.

You can use the Postcards MCP for creating emails.

Nice to see a MCP user in wild! MailerLite (marketing emails) or MailerSend (transactional) both have a fully hosted MCP server so no headache for you. I'm more into data handling, analyzing campaigns, cleaning up mailing lists etc but you can fully create and schedule campaigns and automations using Claude too.

brew.new is pretty neat if you haven't seen it. It's basically what you're describing and wrapped around one of the foundational models, not sure if they use Anthorpic, OpenAI, or something esle. They have AI that helps create the emails and a pretty large repository of ready made templaces/emails that you can take and remix so you get the layout of the template with all of your branding and copy. I'm also working on a similar "frontend" to email sending platforms like postmark, sendgrid, etc., but built into a larger CRM platform with an AI website creator that's integrated with the CRM as well, so things like Contact forms on the website automatically create records in the Leads table and not have to deal with integrating it with another service, which would also funnel those leads/contacts into the campaigns and sequences that you could the send emails to.
