Hey all! I currently use Notion for keeping track of all things pet sitting. I feel like i need to be trained and take several hours of courses to use it, which im not interested in. I am trying to make it as veterinary software similar as possible (think my baby Avimark if you are a vet med person) I am struggling bc it just is not what I want. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am wanting the following things in whatever I use - customizable, but not overwhelming/you have to have a degree to use - link entries to each other - similar to Avimark/Veterinary software - photos

If there isn’t anything off the shelf you can use, you will need something with a database structure. Most of what will work for you will take a lot of customizing. You may want to look into having Claude or a similar AI design a Notion (or other database based app) workflow for you. With the right prompts, the AI will walk you through the setup step by step. If you are looking for something truly custom, an AI will build that for you, but if you don’t want to put the time into learning Notion, creating your own app might be more than you are looking to get into. For some apps that are similar to Notion, but have little more structure, check out Smartsuite, Airtable and Clickup. Look into how you can use Zapier to expand the functionality of these apps and integrate them into the rest of your workflow.
Yerp, Notion is a hot mess. Suggest you look into CRM or Petcare focused CRM products
Since you want something Avimark-ish, I’d stop trying to turn a general notes app into pet-care software. Time To Pet or Precise Petcare seem much closer to the job: client and pet profiles, scheduling, visit notes/photos, and the business side in one place. They may be more software than you need, but at least you’re configuring a pet-sitting system instead of inventing one from scratch.
