I use this open-source app called Episteme . CRAZY good app. Dare I say it's even better than Moon Reader and Readera which are considered staples of android readers I think just search Episteme reader should give you the link to github

I use ReadEra it can read pdfs , but its better when reading epub tho

For PDF specifically ReadEra is the safe pick — it remembers your exact position per file (even after force-close), bookmarks are free, and it handles big PDFs without re-rendering lag. If your book also exists as an epub, grab that version instead; reflowable text makes position-memory and night reading way better. Moon+ Reader is great for epub but its PDF mode is basically a viewer.

I like Seriatim. You read by smaller parts than pages (e.g. sentences). It remembers on which sentence you left off reading. Look at its subreddit.
