This a quick one, I've had a search on google and f-droid. I'm after an app, that allows me to share photos/videos with family fully uncompressed and encrypted, directly, no server required (if possible). Similar to any messaging app like signal but unhindered. I'm a photographer and print often, so when family send me images, they tend to be very compressed via whatsapp/signal etc. I do ask them to email them instead but lets say, for sheer simplicity most find messaging apps easier/less lazy to use. I do have a homelab/truenas server, so perhaps I could use that to host something and them give all my people an app? Any thoughts, thanks.

Airdrop or quickshare. This is direct device to device sharing. Fully local on phone only with no cloud or server. All that is sent is 1 to 1 copy.
Oh I see. I'm rooted and mostly google debloated, so perhaps quick share probably won't work as it's a android built in tool. If I was to re-install it (if required) is it secure though as I don't trust google at all, hence why I was looking for something open-sourced? Thanks
LocalSend works and is on F-Droid Or Blip from Google Play store
Quick share supports air drop now in latest Samsung phones
I hope you arent this hard to deal with i other areas of your life........ Quick Share. Get onto it. Its brilliant.
Blip 100%, but they have to open the app on pc. On phone they get notification to accept files if internet is ON
All it does is connect both devices together directly to share. It is all local. Meaning only the device gets used
