So basically I've been looking for a wireless mouse which can be used with either hand AND has side buttons which I can access with my thumb. Unfortunately I just can't find any, except for some very specialized gaming mice. I also want to take it to customers and use it for traveling, so I would prefer a flatter profile. Is there no market for such products? I surely can't be the only one looking for a device like this

Have you considered a trackpad?
I often use the trackpad of my laptop, but sometimes I just need something that is fully detached from it. I also need a mouse (or something very similar to one) for either office work or using apps which has been specifically made to be used with a mouse, so trackballs are also out unfortunately.
Could be a dumb but drawing tablet with buttons on the pen like Wacom so you get mouse functions
if you really can't find any, think of it as an opportunity to cash in on a very niche market
