I would like something that would let me create groups, folders, instead of how acrobat does it, with just a list with recent ones in top. I would also need dark mode. I hate how acrobat reader closes my file whenever I switch to a different app for a second. I tried googling it but remember not finding an app that would fit thise criteria. Thank you in advance for any advice 😊

Xodo handles this well - it has proper folders/collections (not just one flat list), dark mode, a recent files list that actually persists, and it doesn't close your document just because you alt-tabbed to look something up. Been using it for years of PDF rulebooks and it's held up fine.
