What is the best ebook reader easy to self host? I am not interested in ebook library. I have programming ebooks in PDF, epub, mobi, djvu for historical data. I want start reading on laptop, continue on tablet pc, occasionally on smartphone. After read I will be delete it. When I get new tech stack I need read it and I use it a lot, but after that I achieve it for further reference in NAS to get copy when I need it. It will be perfect if it can watch folder and add new files automatically. I stop reading on one device and I can continue on another device.

And maybe Readest on iOS/MacOS syncing too. With https://github.com/nperez0111/koreader-sync to selfhood sync.

Yeah, also. I just prefer KOreader as it supports Pocketbook devices.

Kavita can work, might be a little over powered for what you're looking for tho.

Koreader with a sync server?

I made same questions a while ago but since mine is a reference reader (users don't read book start to finish, all I need was a book with deeplink to source) I then realized no option out there has CFI (that is like deeplink for epubs, since they don't have pages per se). So I decided to build it using epub.js I guess. Lemme check my notes. Again it works for me coz you just visit page confirm source flip left and right a bit and move on.

You can check out Stump App. It has mobile apps (TestFlight in iOS) but I do have some trouble with progress sync between mobile and web though I only use mobile app - project is in active development, may be worth a check.

Don't exist webbased first solution? That I can use web based ebook reader? Your suggestions are limited to eink devices. I was looking for something what can work with Mac/Win/iOS/Android machine.
