music for casaos?
hey so ive had my zimaos server for a while now but ive never set anything up for music. i was wondering if there is anything like apple music or spotify that would run on my nas, more specifically im really wanting something that is easy to find and "save"…
hey so ive had my zimaos server for a while now but ive never set anything up for music. i was wondering if there is anything like apple music or spotify that would run on my nas, more specifically im really wanting something that is easy to find and "save" new music just like how i can with spotify. weather thats through community playlists or something else. and i want to be able to download music easily (basically how jelleyseer but in the same app that i listen to it in). ive seen some like navidrome/subsonic but they dont really have the ability to listen to new music from my understanding. i also saw funkwhale but i dont think thats for a nas, and it still doesnt look the best. is there anything like that or am i delusional? another thing that i think would be cool (which i highly doubt any software can do it yet) is to have ai functionality to find new music or like cull playlists or sum idk. i dont even care if it would take weeks to transfer all like 10,000 songs i have saved on spotify to it idk i dont think there is anything like this but if i have a huge blind spot id love to know, thank you

I’m currently building https://github.com/johnpc/cadence It is a self host able static frontend for Jellyfin for music. It has a companion Jellyfin plugin which allows creating playlists (with good suggestions like Spotify), importing/syncing public playlists from Deezer, generating actually good daily mixes and “go to radio” style playlists. It also lets you request artists via Lidarr if you set that up in the plugin too. Its philosophy is to be as much like Spotify as possible. What frustrates me about most Jellyfin music apps, is they assume libraries are iPod-sized (you scroll through list of all artists etc) rather than Spotify sized (gigantic, most music you don’t see unless you specifically search but smart suggestions are still surfaced). It works for desktop and PWA on mobile. I also have native mobile app in beta (I can give you test flight invite for iOS or link you to an apk for android) If you want a demo I can send you info on my hosted instance via dm Oh and it’s free, open source, no monetization ever. I’m building this for myself and my friends/family to use, and of course if anyone in the community finds it valuable they’re welcome to host their own, or contribute code or bug reports, or fork it entirely to make it their own. I’ve been using it for a few days only so far but I’m feeling pretty close to complete right now beyond some small bugs that aren’t showstoppers.

I’m building it next week on Zima too. I was thinking about Navidrome + Arpeggi/Symfonium but didn’t find anything for recommendations, so I’ll check this thread in a few hours :P
I don't understand exactly why you want. If you look for a platform that is a personal music server where you can upload your song you have https://mopidy.com for example. If you want to access song from other users Funkwhale is federated and it support subsonic if you don't like the UI (i'm a funkwhlae dev). If you want to also listen to news songs from spotify you can use an premium api key on mopidy if a plugin exist, or you can create a plugin for Funkwhale
Check out mStream. Its a server that gives music recommendations from other users from around the world.
