I found this image on pinterest and it inspired me to possibly make an app that does exactly this. I find myself constantly writing things and then copy and pasting weak words into google, searching for stronger synonyms. So what if instead of doing that you just copy and pasted everything into this app and words would be picked automatically to swap out with stronger words. For example: important → crucial, essential, vital good results → promising results, strong results, compelling results In conclusion → To conclude, Ultimately, In summary Everything would run entirely on device, local, private, offline. I'd probably use local token classification or cross encoder models that are extremely small and optimized. Obviously I would be building this for myself, but I'm just making this post to ask if you would think other people would pay like $5 for something like this? That way I can optimize for making it public before I even begin developing it. Let me know what yall think!

Would be more effective as an extension to existing apps I think instead of a standalone app. Copy pasting across apps loses formatting from Word or Google Docs, Gmail, outlook, etc. A natively supported extension that could read and overlay the writings in those and other apps would be way more impact.
Possibly, but it would no longer be "offline" which I feel like would be a high selling point. I guess I could do both, however whats to differentiate the extension from grammarly. I guess this would be more individual word focused rather than full sentence flow
I think you've spent too much time in developer/AI circles and are starting to see the market through that lens. No average person is spending time out of their day talking to an AI to make a tool for themselves, most people don't even know that AI's #1 skill is coding.

Download large synonym library of the most common words to help to keep it smaller (if needed), download that locally and reference that? Can even localise multiple languages and lazy load them, depending if a user selects an alternative language (outside English) to keep storage on device lower.

I wonder if you could make an autosuggestion app that is smart enough to read the form field you are typing in and show suggestions like this from it, regardless of app. Or for a more integrated/natural feel, maybe could have smaller integrations into different apps (One for browser, one for ms word, etc.)
Weird, I wouldn't pay for it BUT I think it could be useful for kids who like reading 🫤🫤🫤 Best use case I see for this would be learning another language. That's something people MIGHT pay for if done properly and priced properly. I might have to build that..... See you at the finish line 👀👋

I would pay for it, i have payed for grammarly and i know its eating up whatever creativity and word play i had before. Its definitely a good assistive playground where ill steer the wheel for the content and make thoughtful decisions on the go, than to hopelessly have it rewrittern to slop.
