ISO remotely put pc to sleep

It's not at regular times through out the day. It's whenever they finish chores and the time is right. Also that'd be inconvenient for our phone and my laptop if I'm working.

Be a good parent. There's no substitution for being a good parent. 20 minutes is extremely limiting considering everything there is online these days. I mean it's a crucial part of nearly every part of our life at this point. Here's a good idea. Extend it to a half an hour which the kids will like but tell them you'll do this if they cooperate and if they don't fuss a lot when the half hour is up. They need to listen and be respectful and when you tell them the half hour is up they need to cooperate. Then you don't have to use any kind of a program to try to lock them out which further infuriates them by the way. Just be a good parent and extend it an extra 10 minutes if they agree to cooperate better. This should absolutely work if your kids have any respect for you.

Another similar program to look at is Unified Remote. Lives in the system tray, so not completely invisible, but otherwise not noticable.
Another vote for RustDesk. It works great, even on mobile.

Is it something that's always on in the background? Or does it have to be initiated and connected each time?
You set up the device connection once and then you can reconnect as needed.
Upvoting Ms family. Using it along google family and its been a life saver. From mobile to laptop to pc to console. Finnickey at times but 1 dns entry and never had a issue again.
Remote shutoff is possible with Homebridge wol. It essentially uses ssh to do so. Homebridge creates an on/off switch in Apple home. On just sends a magic packet to wake on lan your pc. The off side of the switch uses ssh to run a scheduled task on the pc that shuts it down. Best part is that works remotely, and also acts as a status for your pc’s current state. The task is something like: shutdown -s -t 0. Now you can pair that with Apple shortcuts to monitor that switch’s status and turn it off after 20 minutes. But honestly as others have said, nothing is a good substitute for just being an active and present parent. I know you said you use android, so there is likely a similar option for home assistant, and Ifttt. Another option is with Microsoft family. Can set up usage limits, and the child can request additional time. Personally I hate that app though. It’s a real pita.
