There are several posts for WordPad (WP) alts and I've tried searching for options, yet nothing seems to match quite what I'm seeking. A lot of suggestions promote text editors like Notepad++ or Joplin, fully-featured word processors like MS Word or LibreOffice, or very basic like Notepad. Those aren't what I'm looking for, WP is more so in-between Notepad and Word -- offers RTF features and not much more, plus is lightweight enough to use swiftly. What I'd like specifically includes the ability to do RTF (mostly just bold, italicise, bullet-point, and colour text), save files locally (offline), open/edit RTF files, and works on Windows 10. I do still use WP, but really wish it had dark mode, hence my research and query, though it seems challenging to find simply that as available. I've tried NotepadX (ads, doesn't provide all my fonts, no text colour), Ivirius (GUI has more empty space/not as compact as WP, has few functional issues in areas I utilise), UltraPad (primarily Win 11, yet seems to work on Win 10, but like Ivirius it has some functional flaws), discovered RectifyPad (unfortunately Win 11 exclusive) and TowPad (unavailable), even briefly checked out Beaver Notes and Joplin (however, they're not like WP so they don't work the same). I have used Word and LibreOffice, but again those are fully-featured word processors and unlike WP, with page breaks and many features I won't often use. At this point, I'm starting to think that there really isn't an available WordPad alternative with the above criteria and would have to either keep using the default light-themed WP or compromise for something else, unless there's one out there that I just haven't yet heard of that would work. Does anyone here potentially know of an actual alternative with the desired features, or any suggestions for something as similar as possible?

To be fair, figuring the right key terms can be a hit-or-miss for some searches, but I have tried "wordpad alternative dark mode", swapping with "lightweight word processor", including "rtf" and "text editor", etc. I did look at Notepad Light before, but the GUI initially wasn't striking me as "dark mode" than it is just grey. I would prefer a very dark grey colour scheme for better contrast against light text, if possible.
UltraPad will make you happier.
I did mention UltraPad in my post with the problem that it's exclusively for Win 11, but I agree -- it might get Win 10 support, although I'm not sure what's the current status of that. If it can work out for Win 10, that's definitely one I'd like to try, as it appears the most comparable according to the screenshots of it.
Is the error missed.dll files on Windows 10?
I suspect a simple, really simple search with your Search Engine of choice would have revealed precisely what you are looking for: Query: "rtf editor with dark mode" First result: https://github.com/desjarlais/Notepad-Light It seems that using a search engine is a skill going out of fashion ...
You might want to try Ultraedit.. Been my Go To alternative to Notepad/Wordpad for years... It has Dark Mode and many options to tune it to your needs...
Wordpad does do dark mode, but you have to switch to a high-contrast theme. ALT+Shift+PRINTSCREEN
