I have a Shortcut set up to have Siri invoke Ramble and I love it. But when driving — when random tasks often come to mind — Siri hits the passcode and won’t proceed because of Driving Focus. I’d have to pick up my phone and take my eyes off the road to authenticate for the Shortcut to proceed. Is there any way to “allowlist” Ramble so it doesn’t require the passcode during Driving Focus?

Todoist needs a CarPlay app, it’s where I do most of my brain dump inbetween work and home. Unless you remove the Drive focus on iOS, I don’t think you have an option for app whitelisting in it.

Steps to Create a Siri Ramble Shortcut Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone. Tap the + icon in the upper-right corner to start a new shortcut. Search for Ramble or Todoist and select the Open Ramble (or Start Ramble) action. Name the shortcut your preferred voice phrase (e.g., "Ramble" or "Start Ramble"). Invoke it anytime by activating Siri and saying your shortcut's name.

Amen on the first point. My other use case: I'd like to use location-based reminders to remind me to go to the grocery store on the way home from work. However, they're not super useful unless they jump out at me. I wish Todoist notifications would pop up on CarPlay.
I agree that would be frustrating… are you willing to share the shortcut? I think Ramble is excellent, and I use it all the time.

this is exactly the kind of automation that sounds tiny until it breaks at the one moment you actually need it driving focus is useful but it can be a bit too pleased with itself
