For the unfamiliar, Unhooked is a browser extension that makes the user experience more similar to older versions of YouTube. What I care about mostly is switching the home feed from recommended to subscriptions and removing all the irrelevant crap from the search results. Is anyone familiar with an Android app that can do similar things? Even better if it runs on Android TV as well, but even a smartphone-only version would be good enough. On the other hand, it doesn't have to remove the adds necessarily, I have a premium subscription either way. Thank you in advance!

Look into YouTube Morphe. It's a modified version of YouTube that lets you customize it wildly —I'm not sure if it lets you get rid of the feed entirely but I wouldn't be surprised. Check it out and see.
I'm not familiar with unhooked but on android TV the 2 most popular apps are tizen tube, which is like stock YouTube without ads, and smarttube which is a lot more customizable. I suggest start with smart tube for TV. For your phone or tablet, you might have to use morphe to patch it YouTube and try to tweak it.

Try decaf social on the play store. It'll clean some of the crap from search results. For the home screen recommendations, you can turn this off by clearing your watch history or pausing history tracking in settings
