Hi, I am building a permanent water feeder for my cat. The idea is to have a motion sensor connected to a solenoid valve and the cat drink when it goes near it. So far here is what I did and I will say what I need help with . I ran a 1/4 water line from my RO, I bought a DC solenoid valve and I bought a DC motion sensor . The motion sensor needed 3amp current so I had to order that. But my biggest issue is the drain . I don’t know what to buy or build so that the water goes . As I know the cat needs a bit of water to be in a tray and it cannot be just a fountain . Any idea what I can use or build ? I attached some of the items I am using .

Why not just have it by a sink? I have the aquapurr and they just have it over a sink. Cats learn to go to the side or step in sink. But if you really want to go that route and not go with a sink, you’d need to tap into your existing drains, add a p trap, make sure you use the correct fittings and glue.
I thought of that but a few consideration stopped me. First sink is used by people too so the water will run if someone goes near it . Second we don’t want to have another tap in our sink. We have a drain where I want to install it but my question is what to use to connect to my 3/8 drain line .
