What is OpenCode privacy situation when pairing with outside providers?

Hi all, I recently discovered that MiniMax offers ~1.7B tokens/month for a basic $20 subscription, and I was genuinely shocked! I wanted to try it out and paired it with OpenCode. Everything is working amazingly well, but I started to wonder what happens with my data? I know OC is open source but navigating the codebase would take me weeks, so I wanted to ask the community here whether my data is being accessed by OC when using an outside provider. If the answer is yes, then what would you recommend me? Nanocoder was an alternative, wondering how that works, and whether there are other options. Thanks a lot!

Oh wait I misinterpreted, I thought you were taking about the sub, the cli is zdr I think, but ysk that the minimax is not zdr they share your data with "business partners", but open code go seems to be zdr, check the above post I linked to
https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1qdo24d/opencode_privacy_policy_is_concerning/ https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/issues/459 No idea if its still like that, I don't use it but have seen discussions around their data collection/telemetry previously.
Feels like they're only talking about using OpenCode's models not connecting it to another provider tho
Hmm that would require cancelling my minimax sub and moving to opencode go? Edit: apparently I can get a lot of usage out of open source models (incl M3) for like $10 per month? That is nuts tbh, once my current minimax sub expires I will give it a shot.
Thanks I'll give it a shot. Nanocoder TUI was breaking when I used it inside Rider so kaybe Pi is better. Also dude:
This has me in tears oh my god. I love it so much 😂 maybe I should change it to this!
Check here, lots of info: https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/s/0nfDpjZPJ1
You should assume every provider is training on, maybe even selling your data, unless otherwise stated.
Switch to Pi tbh. I left opencode because the telemetry left a bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention pi’s system prompt is 3000 times better
go to r/opencodeCLI this is local llama. we don't worry about privacy situations with outside providers because we local
Any data you send anywhere goes into a database that will necessarily be stolen or sold. It is only a matter of time.
