I've had persistent bacne for a while now. I use a hypoallergenic Sanex shower gel and this tea tree scrub as part of my shower routine, which has at least gone some way to calm it down but it's not getting me near the result that I want. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Oooo okay! I used Acnecide on my face for years, didn't quite clear my skin up so I switched to Tretinoin. I think it's time I start using an exfoliant tbh, I've heard good things about the Naturium salicylic acid wash but don't know whether I can stomach £19 for it will probably find another salicylic acid wash first just to test the waters
£19! Damn. The Boots own brand salicylic foaming wash is £3.50, could be worth a shot.
Oooh I have that Superdrug scrub (with the accompanying back spray!). I do still use it to help exfoliate my back. I've been using a boots face wash (boots brand salicylic acid face wash) that had a viral moment recently for being amazing for bacne. I also use acnecide face, back and chest wash for my back 2-3 times a week (on the days where I don't use the salicylic acid wash). But it stains bath towels cos of the benzoyl peroxide :( and it's expensive. It could be worth giving the SA wash a go as it's inexpensive :)
You probably need a chemical exfoliant. Dollar tree sells a salicylic acid body wash in a red bottle for 1.25, you can’t beat that! It works great for me and it’s fragrance free I believe. If that doesn’t work, I would look for leave on salicylic acid treatments. They sell them as liquid toners, lotions, and even sprays! If chemical exfoliation doesn’t work, it could be bacterial. I like leaving panoxyl benzoyl peroxide wash on but be careful because it bleaches clothes. If none of that works, go to a dermatologist. It may also be hormonal. Good luck!
Do you use any shower tools (ex. washcloth, brush) to reach all of the skin on your back? If not, that's something to try. I like japanese-style polyester washcloths since they dry quickly and are long enough to help me reach all areas. I put benzoyl peroxide + bar soap on mine, work it into a lather, then let it sit for ~5min before rinsing. I moisturize my back after showering. This routine helped to clear mine up, I wish you best of luck!
