I have a dilemma in which I want a sporty ish manual car, leaning towards a Honda civic si. I have a tad bit of savings and im applying for a credit card next paycheck to build a credit score, so this is more a long term 2 year ish goal so I can build the money and credit score. Im not really a big car guy but want to get into it and start learning, what are some other good options in your opinion? Im a bit rough on my car (2014 malibu) so I need something a bit reliable and rugged. What do you think?

If nothing is wrong with your malibu be a smart 18 year old and drive it till it breaks. At least get through college or whatever without having a car payment.

I drove my beaten 08 accord throughout college. A year after I graduated and I saved up enough you best be sure I got a brand spankin new car. But, I could afford it because of my career so its still very situational.
I dont belive ill be going for college, maybe a trade school or hoping to go for a plane mechanic school that pays you to go. But I plan on building my credit this way, its what my mother did and your mother always knows best lmao! Thank you for the input.
Yeah, I got my credit card the week I turned 18. I use it for everything but pay it off and treat it like it's a debit card. At 25 my credit rating is ~770 iirc
Yeah keep saving money for school. If you want to build credit use a credit card to pay for gas then pay it off right away
And don’t call yourself dumb just because you have a question and need some assistance.
If you already have a car there should be no reason to get a loan on another one. That's not a great way to build credit. At least save up your money if you want to buy something else
Honda Civic. Has the largest aftermarket parts stock compared to any other vehicle and plenty of YouTube videos on how to do any maintenance on them, and plenty easy, and reliable. I’m with you not the favorite with looks, but easily modifiable, and a good place to start learning
