Forgive my complete lack of knowledge but there is a little bar that says max in BF and the bar is filled slightly past it. I’m not home right now to check how much it goes over but it will barely dip below the max
Really your pc could do with an overhall all together, having recently come from similar age build myself it was finally starting to show its age the last 8/9 months A gpu upgrade would eak out a few more fps, but BF6 is rather cpu heavy, and unfortunately your options are limited to 6th/7th gen intel chips, which isn't going to do you any great jump. While a gpu upgrade will only get you so far due to the limited power behind the cpu.
You can monitor it in task manager (control+alt+delete), or you can enable it in the steam performance overlay
Damn that sucks lol, I am not a gamer no matter how hard I try to force myself to be so a whole pc upgrade is unjustifiable. Thanks for the honesty though, might just be one of those super slow savings things since I really don’t use my pc like that.
Maybe console would be a better option for you, just a thought. I wouldn't bother wasting for next Gen, I know new consoles aren't that far off but theres a very good chance they'll be over $1000
In this game both of those GPUs will be significantly bottlenecked by that CPU. It's well below min spec. It will be a low fps stutterfest. DLSS and FSR will make it worse.
It will be a small bottleneck. I am confident in in this. Maybe moderate at times . And I've personally never experienced any sort of stuttering using upscaling
It is not capable with a more powerful card in BF6. A 2060 super or above will be heavily bottlenecked. In other words it would be a waste of money. The whole system needs an upgrade. A quad core from 2015 ain't gonna cut it.
Can't blame. If we tweak and tuning enough, the CPU can hold it. But I agree with you. I suggest the GPU just because it is a bandage rather than a GTX 980 Ti.
i would upgrade the gpu to a newer one, and maybe turn on fsr if you get something like a 6600 xt
You definitely need to upgrade that gpu to something like a 6600xt or 2060ti. Those would pair well with your cpu i think
sell the whole pc and get a new one , whatever you upgrade, it's still on a dead end hardware.

BF6 is notoriously cpu and gpu heavy. Upgrading the gpu would help a bit, but you'd need a new cpu, board, and ram too. Maybe look up a video with your cpu + the suspected gpu upgrade you'd want for bf6 and see if it looks good.
First. don't use dual monitor while playing FPS games. Turn on only the primary monitor. And you need a stronger GPU. The i7-6700K is still capable but you need at least an RTX 2060 Super.
You absolutely need a new CPU. You should upgrade both components, as the 980ti isn't going to get you too far, but that CPU is well below min spec. Even if you get a more powerful GPU (I'd recommend at least a 3060ti if you want good performance), you'll be heavily CPU limited. That means you won't get the maximum fps the card is capable of as well as frequent frametime spikes which will cause stuttering.
