Original postr/selfhosted

Hey all, Looking for a pintrest like app that can be selfhosted. I've come across a few abandoned projects on my travels but wondered if there was anything around in 2026? I used to use pintrest a lot for my photography mood boards but kept getting content removed for some slightly more risque ideas as their rules and moderation became even more strict over the years. I moved to cosmos for a little while but that requires people I share with to have an account and there's not a lot of appetite for that at times. Ideally looking for the following features: Save images to a board or a master collection The ability to create many mood boards from the saved image collection The ability to share those boards with others If an account is required for sharing, I can create accounts for other users myself and share as needed All suggestions welcome :)

Linkwarden or karakeep. I always think I am going to use them, but I rarely actually do

I've been ok about adding links, I just don't often refer back to them. But that's probably ok

Obsidian and Trilium are solid for organizing stuff, but I'm not sure they really scratch the same itch as a Pinterest clone for mood boarding, since you'd still be manually curating everything rather than having a visual grid you can just browse and throw things into. Does the HTML rendering in either of those actually feel natural for that workflow, or does it still feel more like note taking than image collecting?

I did come across pinry on my own searches but it seems like it was abandoned around 2 years ago. That being said, I might be willing to give it a go in the absence of anything else

There's a couple that can be considered Pinterest alternatives; Karakeep, Linkwarden, LinkDing, Wallabag or Faved. But they're all very focussed on being bookmark managers, and maybe not the image focussed ones you're looking for. Edit; did a bit of searching, and maybe pinry is what you're looking for.

Pinterest is kind of a bookmark manager

Linkwarden is close enough

Linkwarden will work but also look at Obsidian or Trilium. You can have note trees and everything and use the html to show the webpage
