Well I need one to torque oil sump pan bolts (sump bottom half to top half, not the actual sump bolt). And then I'd also use it for oil filter and maybe drain plugs. Thanks
What are the torques for both those things? The sump pan is probably really low and the sump plug is probably gonna be at the top range of the first torque wrench. Ideally you would not use the torque wrench maxed out like if it calls for 30Nm, you wouldn't use a torque wrench that makes out at 30Nm.
True. Inexpensive click style are very finicky at the lower side. You can hardly feel the click, and a newbie might be inclined to keep pulling.
What are you trying to do with it?
I was taught that torque wrenches are most accurate at the center of their range and deviated as you got closer to either end.
I dont see a one wrench solution here for the inexpensive click style. m5 and m6 bolts are common. The torque spec for an m6 is around 5-12 Nm. A m5 is 3-10. Most common bolts are 8mm are 15-48 nm. You would be best with a 1/4 drive the measures 1-8 to 3-10 and a 3/8 drive that covers 10-100. 1/2 inch for everything above.
