Oil level looks good

The fluid doesn't seem to have a smell (granted my sense of smell is awful but i can smell oil or burnt rubber generally) It doesn't have an oily/greasy texture and has started evaporating, so I'm hoping that the folks saying its water are right

It's water from the AC drain tube. Unrelated to the knocking sound.

u/HakunaMeshuggah

That's good news. Now to explain the knocking sound. Does it happen when the engine is idling, or only when you're moving?

u/Alpinab9

Came here to say this "not related" The "leak" is not a leak, it is drainage from the air-conditioning. Post a video with the noise.

Check your oil level to see that the engine still has oil in it.

Ac condensation drain.

u/thegoldenratio16180

That looks like water so it's probably the A/C drain line which is normal

u/YawnY86

The fluid is water. Condensation from your ac. The knocking is... I dunno figure out what's loose. Start shaking things.

u/DifferentCry1306

Normal. The knocking is unrelated

u/Sujosie

Is it just me or does that have the sound of a hot contracting heat shield? Not rhythmic enough to be other?

that's a rough spot for a leak, right near the cv axle boot. could be the boot itself tore and is slinging grease everywhere, or something further up let go. does the fluid smell like gear oil or more like burnt rubber?
