Have an old GE dishwasher that works fine for the most part. But the rinse agent dispenser's lid (screw type) doesn't lock fully - it keeps on spinning, repeatedly going thru tight phase and loose phase, as if the thread is stripped). While not in use, tiny amount of the rinse agent is leaking. Would replacing the dispenser lid fix the problem? Or the thread is indeed stripped?

Start with the cap if you suspect that’s the cause. If that’s not it replace the dispenser. My KitchenAid is also leaking rinse aid. I know it’s the dispenser so I bought a new dispenser. Have not installed it yet.
