Please help. What portable carbon monoxide detector do you use? There are countless posts on this and none with answers to models, no links, no pics. Just people talking about how important it is but never sharing anything beyond that.

Just go to a hardware store and buy one.
x2 I just use a domestic house one, CO and smoke with a 10 years fixed battery.
I've always been told that I need a separate propane detector mounted near the floor as propane sinks while most other gases rise.
Yes that is true for detecting propane gas itself. But Iโm talking about carbon monoxide, which can be a byproduct of combustion.
I use (insert generic rv detector from amazon)
This! Not one from Amazon, Temu or the likes. This is not an item to skimp on.
I use the 4in 1 Amazon one
Any or all work just fine. Grab the cheapest if you're that type, the most expensive if you're that type, or if you are like me, buy the one step over the cheapest that's a brand name. I went "first alert" brand and use an energizer battery cause the bunny told me to all my life.
Whatever is on sale at your local hardware store. I personally paid a little extra for one that gives a digital read out of parts per million. Weirdly my jetboil does seem to set it off significantly, but my propane fueled oven does not.
I canโt remember the one I use right now but one huge problem is that you cannot turn it off. Ever. So do not take it on a plane unless you can turn it off โ mine has a test button and if you accidentally push it all hell breaks loose. I know this is VanLife but I take mine with me other places. Or rather I used toโฆ
Simplisafe, because the van is alone with a pet sometimes and I want to be alerted no matter where I am
I use https://www.campingworld.com/safe-t-alert-35-series-dual-colp-gas-detector-flush-mount-black-70012.html and a house dual smoke Co.
