Would it be a bad idea to replace my Audi Q3 2013 with a used Tesla Model 3?

Not very knowledgeable on cars, but l've been thinking about getting a Tesla for a while now and this Audi was my first car. Would this be a bad idea?

As long as you can charge at home, go for it

as long as you're not expecting audi-tier build quality you'll be fine, the q3 isn't exactly a tank anyway

Not a bad idea at all honestly, way lower running costs and the tech is a big step up from a 2013 Audi. Just check battery health report on any used one, that matters way more than mileage for Teslas specifically

Used Teslas feel like shit boxes IMHO I'm for looking at an EV though! Bolts and Mach E s seem to age much better from what I've seen

If you can charge at home, you're golden. I'd seek out a Model 3 new enough to have a heat pump (sometime in 2021, black trim around windows rather than chrome). I would also seek out one with the Ryzen infotainment processor, which happened sometime in 2022. Makes the whole interface feel much faster, and it gets regular feature updates/additions. Most dealers will take a pic of the vehicle info screen and it'll say Ryzen in there rather than Intel Atom. If not, the change occurred around VIN# 355XXX as a quick check

Absolutely, if you can charge at home. The jump from a 2013 Audi to a Model 3 is smart—no timing chain risk, minimal maintenance. Insurance will be noticeably higher, and you're past the steepest depreciation curve at 2–3 years old. Just verify battery health before buying and confirm no open recalls on the specific car. How's your charging situation, and what's your annual mileage?

What model year tesla? What is the price and mileage and condition? Your question is too generic to provide a solid response here. Keep in mind up until recently some of the earlier model years had very suspect build quality. Some of them were great, some of them were terrible, it was very inconsistent up until about 2 or 3 years ago.
