Been going in circles on this one. Hatch comes down and bounces straight back off, never latches. Looking down into the latch recess in the sill there's a black plastic piece sitting in the opening and it seems like that's what's stopping things from seating. I've search this and other subs, as well as the F48 forums, and didn't turn up this exact symptom, mostly found power tailgate motor failures which I'm 99% sure isn't what this is. There's a documented issue where the claw cycles closed with the hatch open and blocks the striker, and the usual fixes are a fob cycle, pulling the hatch fuse, or manually tripping the claw. Also found that these claws have a plastic overmold, so a closed claw looks like a flat black plate sitting in the throat, which is uncomfortably close to what I'm seeing. The visible piece of plastic doesn't seem to budge in any direction and any combination of locking/unlocking or closing the hatch (manually or automatically) seem to be unfruitful. Before taking it into a shop I figured I'd quick check and see if this is something simple/stupid I'm just missing. Thanks!
