I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi and I experienced lobe failure on cylinder 8 and lifter failure on cylinder 8. I did a full MDS delete kit on my truck through AMS racing and got a new oil pump, pushrods, lifters, camshaft and seals/gaskets. I had the truck apart and put back together. The first time around I had the timing slightly off I believe. I am getting 2 main codes that won’t go away. P000B for camshaft slow response time and P0016 crankshaft position-camshaft position correlation. I took the engine back apart back to the timing chain and could not get the oil pump off without taking down the oil pan and removing the oil pickup tube as it is bolted in the middle of the oil pan as well. I checked for TDC on cylinder one, plug 1 and I had plug 2 blocked so I would get pressure build up. I am 99.9% sure my timing is now correct, and I am looking at it potientially being a camshaft phaser. My engine ate quite a bit of metal shavings chewing through the camshaft lobe. Is it possible the phaser is the issue that will solve those 2 codes? I am also running a hot oil pressure reading of 9 psi at idle and 197 oil temp and 28 psi at 1600 rpm. Not sure if those are related, but my oil pump is new and so is the pickup tube seal. I did complete the diablo tune to turn off my MDS if that matters. What should be my next move?
