I have a 2005 Honda Accord EX V6 and it's been having some air condition issues. It will be running fine then then I can feel car shutter a little, then it will run warm and moist and stink. Sometimes it will turn back on but not recently. This seems to happen more when the car has been running for a while/when it's hot out. I'll start and stop my A/C while stopped and the RPM will flicker up but then drop right back down after a second, like it tries to engage. Any ideas?

Okay thank you. After reading this I swapped the relay but nothing changed. With the air on, I had someone turn off and on the A/C button and it when it went to on, it sounded like it started to engage but then wouldn't, or something like that. It would make noise, not a click but like a fan or something spinning but then stop. While I was getting the relay, I also got a clutch holder and feelers so I can check/clean the clutch but its 100+ today so ill do that tomorrow morning.
Shudder then warm moist air is a dead giveaway the compressor clutch is slipping or not fully engaging. The stink's probably mildew from the evaporator freezing up and then thawing once the AC cuts out. Give the clutch gap a look and maybe swap the relay, those V6 Accords chew through them when it's hot.
I had the same. The compressor needed replacing.
