I’ve been searching for a while and I’m still unsure of what to get. I don’t need like a super high tech laptop but it needs to be good enough for college work. I’m gonna be a bio major and I know that some sort of Mac is good enough but if there is another recommendation I am welcome to take it. I like the MacBook Neo a lot for its price, size, and the way it looks but I’ve heard that it uses the chip intended for the iPhone 16 so it runs slower(?) I’ve also heard that it’s more worth it to get a refurbished MacBook Air but I’m kinda scared of the quality. My budget is $900 max and any help regarding my situation will be super appreciated!! Country USA Budget 900 USD Are you open to refurbs/used options? Yes Screen size 13", 14",15” Weight limit Any Purpose Mainly for school work, minimal gaming Form factor Regular laptop or 2n1 Intended usage Canvas Desired battery life At least 4 hours Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life Size, performance, battery life, weight

Think of the Neo as an Air M1 reissue. They're equally fast, which is more than enough for office/college work. But a refurbished Air M4 for example will be a lot faster to begin with, thus staying usable before starting to feel sluggish for 3 more years than Neo or Air M1. Apple Certified Refurbished is the most reliable source, those items are virtually indistinguishable from new. I can't see any option under 900 atm, only this one: https://www.newegg.com/apple-13-6-liquid-retina-8-core-gpu-16gb-memory-256gb-ssd-256gb-hdd/p/2SN-0001-03RZ0

I'd only buy a refurbished MacBook that's refurbished by Apple. Those refurbished by Apple are rigorously tested, cleaned, and serviced and are practically as good as brand new. They're on the Apple website/store. I've read stories of refurbs from other places where the paint peels off, weird stuff.

If you are open to a windows laptop, then I would recommend this deal Acer Aspire Go** because it comes with : Specs: Screen: 14" WUXGA CPU : Core Ultra 7 Ram : 16GB LPDDR4X Storage : 1TB SSD And I have recommended this because of Long battery life . Powerful CPU for canvas . Great value for money. Lightweight .
