Should I upgrade my 5600 to 5800x3d?

Morning all, I currently play at 1440p and I am having issues where my PC will freeze or hang for a few seconds before returning to normal... This only happens on bf6 after dying and in the pick a class. But only happens every now and then.. However it happens enough to be annoying Current rig: CPU: 5600 GPU: RX9070 RAM: 32GB 3600 MHZ PSU: 1000W Some google searches show that it looks like my GPU is too strong for my 5600 to keep up with it. I would have upgraded to AM5 but given the ram prices I will most likely just skip this generation and wait for AM6. Would I see a significant gain in stability and FPS if I upgrade to 5800x3d? or should I upgrade to 5800x for a £80 savings? Any advice would be much appreciated!

for a few seconds before returning to normal... This sounds more like some other issue, a 5600 should not get stuck and hang for several seconds. I'd perhaps first look to do a clean install of your OS to get rid of any bloat, or check around what software you have running that might be causing issues. The Google searches are more about your average and minimum FPS being so far apart (inconsistent average FPS) that the slowdown and speedup in FPS is quite noticeable. A 5800X3D would help with that, as well as removing possible minor stuttering (not seconds long).
That's not how monitoring core usage works. Maxing out means it is doing its job.

Absolutely not. Yes, the 7800x3d is better but it cost too much more because op have to buy new ram, new motherboard and the CPU. If the cost increase is not a problem then yes I would do it but we don't know
To clarify, the hanging only lasts for 1–2 seconds, and it specifically happens on Battlefield 6 in the loadout screen right after dying. But not all the time. During daily use, the PC runs perfectly with no freezing at all. BF6 is the only game where this occurs. When it happens, I notice the CPU usage drops drastically before shooting right back up a couple of seconds later.
Can't seem to find a 5700x3d in the UK or Ali press without it costing like £400+ I could get the 5800x3d for £300 on overclocker but still a toss up.
Would that increase my performance much compared to the 5600? I think I saw some of them for like £150 on Aliexpress

Oof. Totally understandable. I got it around 220 euros while 5800x3d was nearing 400, but your situation makes more sense to go for the 5800x3d I'd always go for the x3d choice, it's your last possible upgrade on the am4 platform and it does futureproof it way better than the non x3d options.
What are its temperature readings when that happens?
I did upgrade from a 10600K (which is faster than a 5600) to a 5800X3D and in a very few games, my fps almost doubled (1% lows on CS2 f.e.). Shadow of the Tomb Raider went from barely doing 120 fps to 165 fps 1% lows. An absolute blast. 6900 XT here. Going to a 5800X, the difference would be minimal (even though some games would benefit the 2 extra cores). It will in cpu bound games, not really in other games and most likely will fall behind outside gaming.

Before buying anything, I'd monitor your 5600 per-core usage to see if it indeed holds you back. If even 1 core maxes out then it holds you back, else it doesn't. Monitor temperatures and power draws too.
i went from a 5600 to a 5700x3d and it's awesome af, I didn't fine the extra cash for the 5800x3d to be worth it.
No. Although the 5800x3d is really good it cost way too much. If you want a real upgrade without spending too much you should buy a 5500x3d from AliExpress, only place where Asian, European or north American can buy this CPU
