Hiya! I've never really cared for my skin (see picture above). I pick at my pimples, wash my face with soap for hands and dry my face by rubbing it not tapping it. I know, I know. All I shouldn't do. But I want to be better! I've started washing it with just water (sadly there's hard water where I live) and try to dry by tapping (whenever I remember) and I've started putting on some argan oil that has linen and almonds? Idk but my skin is looking way better But not that much, I start getting pimples after a few days of using oils... Also if I DONT use them my nose gets super oily and smelly? Like it actually smells really bad... I've read around here about using Vaseline, sunscreen, tritsomething and hialuronic acid and what have you. I really don't know where to start, I'm paralyzed! Please help!

Thank you so much for your answer! I went to a derma, she just said "wash your face with neutral soap" and that was it.
Well I would say that's pretty outdated advice (not to discredit the dermatologist). You need a gentle cleanser specifically for your face since soap can be harsh since it is often meant for your hands instead of your face. If I were you, I would try a beginner friendly routine like: Morning routine: CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser CeraVe Oil Control Moisturizing Gel Cream SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF 50+ PA++++ Night routine: CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser CeraVe Oil Control Moisturizing Gel Cream In skincare, time and consistency is pretty much key. Keep using the same products for at least 4-8 weeks and see if they make a difference on your skin. If it doesn't improve, you should try to introduce a serum or other ingredients to target your skin concerns. Try to document your skin every month by taking pictures to see if it improves over time. I know you can easily get insecure or self-conscious about it at first but it can really help in the long run - especially if you see clear results.
I would start with a simple routine. Your morning routine could be: 1) A gentle no-fragrance cleanser, 2) a moisturizer (maybe in a gel-like texture since you mentioned that you have oily skin), 3) sunscreen with SPF 50 is a must-have. And then for your night routine just simply use the cleanser and then a moisturizer on top after your skin as dried. If you tend to pick your skin then I would recommend buying some pimple patches so you don't get the urge to pick. I would advice you to stop using the argan oil because heavy plant oils like argan oil can cause breakouts, clogged pores, or worsened acne, especially for people with naturally oily or acne-prone skin. I would recommend the brand CeraVe since it is pretty beginner friendly. You might like CeraVe's SA Smoothing Cleanser. I would also go and see a dermatologist as well. They can give you personal advice specifically for your skin and skin concerns.
Well the previous comment said everything hahaha, also, try to find another derm
