2017 Ford Ranger 2.2. When i go to start my car it makes a noise as if it is not engaged to the flywheel i had the starter tested and it passed i even tried a new solenoid. On the ignition switch side, my ignition lock is pretty worn out but thats just mechanical, right?. The ignition switch also works. Any suggestions or ideas Thanks.

Sounds like the starter drive gear isn't throwing out far enough to mesh, even if the motor spins fine on a bench test
