Hi everyone, I’m pretty new to PC hardware and BIOS settings. I don’t really know technical terms, and the only time I entered the BIOS was just to turn off the motherboard RGB when the PC is powered off. I have a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with a 360mm AIO and an RX 7800 XT. I’ve always used Curve Optimizer at –20 without any issues. Yesterday I tried –15 just to be safe, and everything was stable — no crashes, normal temps, and Cyberpunk 2077 ran perfectly. Today, out of nowhere, Cyberpunk keeps crashing (flatline). It crashes with CO –20 and also with CO –15. No BSOD, no Windows freeze, just the game closing. Temps are fine (around 75–80°C), Cinebench is stable, and other games work without problems. So I’m wondering if this could be caused by wrong fan curves on my AIO/radiator. Maybe the fans react too slowly, causing sudden temperature spikes? My motherboard is a Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX ICE, and I honestly don’t know how to properly set fan curves or optimize the BIOS for stability. Could someone explain in simple terms how to: set correct fan curves for the radiator understand if CO –20/–15 is too aggressive check if EXPO might be causing instability I’ll also apply a better thermal paste on Wednesday, but I’d like to understand what I can fix already. Did you have latest graphics driver, do you have EXPO activated? Can your mobo handle RAM 6200MT/s? Do you have any other program running in the background, turn it all off. What's your GPU temp when playing it

Different uses stress different parts of the CPU. So just because it's stable in Cinebench or Prime95 or any other stress test doesn't necessarily mean it's stable in all use cases.

I cant tell what your problem is specifically but I can pretty much guarantee that is NOT it. lol I’ll also apply a better thermal paste on Wednesday This is also not your problem. As others have said, reset curve optimizer to default. Sometimes games just have a bizarre issue with certain power profiles in a CPU/GPU. If this solves the issue, you can then turn it back on to -15 or whatever after you've finished CP2077 and are ready to move on. Next thing I'd do is update or install a different graphics driver. check if EXPO might be causing instability That is a more realistic potential issue. Some EXPO profiles can be a little aggressive. A quick way to test is to just go into BIOS and turn EXPO off. I dont know your motherboard, but it should be a case of toggling a switch. Then Save settings and exit BIOS. Dont do any messing with other settings unless this actually clears the crashing problem. If it does, then you know you'll need to tune your memory manually to make it more stable. Which shouldn't be difficult, but let's no go there yet unless you confirm it's your problem in the first place.
